Re: Slow running

WM, Nitrous is a funny thing. I know a number of guys who have it on their bikes and it's not even hooked up. They have it for the eww and ahhh factor I guess. I've seen everything from young kids to old timers who walk up and do the; "whoa, it's got NOS!" exclamation. Even the motor heads...

Re: Hey Super and Brother Zo

Man oh man, that place has the right look and according to the article, the right menu. Sure wish it was in SW Florida or NW N. Carolina instead of NM  . That 2,000 mile road trip is a bit of a hike for me. Perhaps I'll be lucky enough to make it out there one day.

Boom Boom, I KNOW THAT BITCH! She comes down to SW Florida every winter! 4 door Buick, half blind, arrogant asshole attitude, Michigan plates! As a matter of fact, she brings her whole fam damily and friends! They clog up our roads, act like they own the place, give locals the finger, and drive like...

Re: Holley Carb or not???

John, Just for shits & grins, I went surfing on some of the hotrod sites, both Chevy and Ford to hear what some of the other boards had to say about carbs and Edelbrock vs Holley in particular. I had expected to see what I myself thought which is the Holley was very much more popular but that wa...

Re: Holley Carb or not???

I would worry about secondary float level on hard acceleration if the holley was installed backwards.[/quote] Tom, that was my immediate thought. For putzing around bar-to-bar I'd guess it's fine but under hard acceleration, uh, I don't think so. John, your comments and mine were the same with the H...

Re: V8Biker pic of the day

WM,

I saw a really cool JD (no, not Jack Daniels, ha ha ;) ) that Mountain BH had done a few years back at Daytona. Same paint scheme but I thought it was a 502 or maybe even a Donovan. Didn't know there were two JD tractor bikes out there?

Re: DAYTONA BIKE WEEK '09

CR, The weather has sucked here for quite some time. I took the bike down south but haven't had occasion to get back down and ride. Got most of my nitrous installed last visit and will finish it up next week when back down. Due to the lack of riding and cold temps, snow, broken pipes, etc, I'm chomp...

Re: Dunlop 245/50 ZR 15 for Wildman

Ok guys, I can buy all that. I guess my feelings about car vs bike tires were based on a bad experience I had with a car tire (Sumitomo 285) on my big block Boss and my riding is primarily on very challenging roads here in the NC mountains. Cost, looks, wear are all legitimate reasons to have a car ...

Re: Slow running

Thanks Elliot, I'll have to fit a rev counter. It seems to idle a bit fast even though the tickover screw is right out? Steve, I'm having to chuckle a bit at the thought of using the site's Google translator albeit we both speak "English", ha ha  A bit of a gap in terminology from ...

Re: Slow running

What is the lowest speed you can expect? My Kannon doesn't want to go much under 20mph. The tickover seems too fast. Tried the screw on the rotary actuator the cables fit into, but it didn't make any difference. Any advice please? When it's in drive, it wants to keep going, you have to hold it on t...

Thanx Harold! The tire is a compromise but I got good miles out of my last one and think I will try it again. WM 8-) WM, I swear I'm not asking this to start a shitstorm but...would you or someone explain to me why you would prefer using a car tire to a motorcycle tire on these bikes? I tried it on...

Uh oh, the asphalt God's may not be shining upon you CR. Be sure to check your mirrors in Daytona :( That's a bad ending to your story. Re: Holley Carb or not???

Loaf, Closing the fuel valve before shutting down would be a pain in the butt. I agree, you may have a crack somewhere and heat and expansion are factors. When walking around the track looking at all the hot rods, mostly small block Chevy types, I never see an Edelbrock carb. Intakes yes. Nitrous sy...

Re: Holley Carb or not???

Olaf, I'm hesitant to add much here because there are those that are WAY smarter than me with respect to carbs. I've rebuilt a few and have some experience from both the V8 bikes and some hot rods but am no expert or even close to it. Seems like Carb Mike has been the guru most go to although it see...

Re: Carb question

Steve, I believe the V8 Choppers have a four barrel carb, too...just an air filter each side - but not 100% sure on this. ..........Elliot??? Let us know. Loafster Olaf, exactly right. Single 4 barrel (Edelbrock) with a Holley air cleaner using a breather on each side. Keeping one 4 barrel tuned an...

Re: Holley Carb or not???

Hi Olaf, I need to check the "tech" board more often. I forget to look but it's my favorite part of the site! I played with a number of carbs with the 502 and Gary did the same with his modified small block. We never were happy with the Edelbrock as far as performance. They were fine as fa...

Re: DAYTONA BIKE WEEK '09

Jack, When I had the BH, Jeanette was often a passenger and I was a model good citizen. She never minded my pounding Harleys with her on the back over the years but wasn't too big on it with the 502. As you may have noted seeing my V8Chopper, it's a solo ride so I can be an asshole from time to time...

In my opinion why would a person go the any bike rally to show off how fast , loud or powerful there bike is especially in Daytona with the cops , traffic in general , blue hairs , drinking etc. We got all the rest of the year to play with our power under much safer conditions . Jack 1. Competition...

Re: DAYTONA BIKE WEEK '09

CR, I was just talking to someone about that issue. A few of us have Driver's License's that are in peril. Unfortunately, most of the SE states anyhow have some reciprocity deal and points transfer state to state. I also heard from one bud that a ticket in out of state brings the points back to his...
