Re: AFFORDABLE HP

Hi Elliot, the times are over measured 1/4 mile, they are proper events and the riders know how to ride them. I would like to see some of the times from the V8 bikes, the U Tube videos are very impressive! What top speed do the big blocks make? Other than BS bar talk where I've heard a guy or two s...

Re: V8Biker pic of the day

Tom, the new owner from Norway told me this summer the paint job was for free, sponsored by Jack Daniels. Olaf Wow Olaf, the light bulb just went on  :!: Perhaps we should be going around to some cool sponsors who would underwrite the cost of some kick ass paint jobs with their logos :!: I ca...

Re: AFFORDABLE HP

It was Elliot who I was replying to, read his post, he talked about the modified Busas  Steve, the turbo 'Busa is an incredible machine. I've never rode one or saw one race at the track. I did see a couple of videos on the net where a turbo 'Busa was running against a modified Dodge Viper dow...

Re: V8Biker pic of the day

The Jack Daniels chopper was beautiful up close and personal. I enjoyed seeing it last year when Stan had it displayed at Daytona just prior to going to Norway. JD is more popular than I realized judging from all the pictures and smiles associated with this bike at Bike Week.

Re: AFFORDABLE HP

Wow Ron, you sure know how to stir the shit. Here we go... Excellent question regarding the nitrous with the 10 oz. bottle. The answer to that question is based on how big a shot you use and the temp of the bottle dictating how much pressure you have. A 150 hp shot will of course use more nitrous th...

Re: AFFORDABLE HP

John, I hear you and was pretty well convinced that cast pistons and nitrous were a no-no until sniffing around. Lots of different factors all of which I'm sure you're aware. I got it straight from the horse's mouth talking to the Keith Black folks and DART, not to mention a number of the Mustang an...

Re: AFFORDABLE HP

WM, My system is ABC simple. Nothing fancy at all. The "system" as such is the "SNIPER" system which retails for about $379 out of Jeg's or Summit and elsewhere. It basically has everything as far as electric, plumbing, plate, solenoids, and bottle....although few will use the bi...

Re: Reliable fan switches

WM, You bring up a good point because the same holds true here in the NC mountains with me. Having rode in SW Florida all those years, it was never a question...the fan was always going to run, especially with the 502. I have a big Autometer gauge and it rarely gets to 180 although that's with the f...

AFFORDABLE HP

So many different ways to get addt'l HP, so many dollars often required. For the purists, heads, cam, intake, carb, headers...all great ways to make more power but also at a high dollar price. Some of the motors we run are well served with some of the above to give them more attitude in addition to ...

Re: Reliable fan switches

My switch is more reliable than any of the above. I don't have one. I too had numerous failures and didn't realize it 'til there was a pretty good overheat. Tried it manually but would forget. My current bike is just constant on and the worry is gone. I know some have suggested it's too uncomfortabl...

Re: DAYTONA BIKE WEEK '09

With Daytona barely a month away, thought I'd bump this thread up again with a few thoughts.... Hadn't heard anything about Bryan's rebuild on the stroker motor which was discussed here. Thought maybe he'd update us. I know Jack D. goes to Daytona early. Hoping Jack will give some prelim reports on...

Re: Wildman's V8Biker pic of the day

WM, speaking of V8Choppers in Norway, there's a Jack Daniels bike that went there. Stan had it at Daytona and I believe it was shipped to RB in Norway shortly thereafter. If you have a pic of that, it would be worthwhile to show some time. It was extremely cool. 8-)

Welcome to another Brit! Sure have made a good friend of one of your countrymen, Jimbo. If you guys live anywhere in the same part of England you should get together. He's very knowledgeable and a great guy having had Kannons, Bosses, and a V8Chopper that I believe is currently or soon to be for sa...

Re: Contest of Speed,, Have you on your Hoss?

Daryl, We've occasionally blasted by a 'Vette or Rustang on the street but I can only go by ET's at the track. A stock Viper or Z06 'Vette is good for perhaps low 12's. High 11's at the very best. A bigblock Boss is probably in the mid 11's although I can't swear to it. We ran at the 1/8th mile trac...

Re: Wildman's V8Biker pic of the day

K, Wow, very cool collection and to be able to enjoy E.J.Potter bikes is better than Evil Knievel's in my book. I would hope the collection stays in good hands as one day, the name E.J. Potter may become more widely known and respected than it is today. Seems very few outside the guys who saw him d...

WM,

E.J. Potter has been one of my heroes ever since a hot rod bud showed me the book on him a number of years back. Wouldn't it have been great to have had him as a neighbor/friend?! One of the coolest 8-) gear heads I've read about. Great pics!

Tom, I know in the old days before we knew better we tried a time or two but then connected the dots equating that action with broken tranny parts :x . I also remember with a slightly modified 502 on Big Red (Demon carb and ignition enhancements), it turned out to be a pretty violent experience one ...
