Re: Ignition Solenoid...grrrr!

I got my ST-80 at Napa for $58.00 and after a little reworking the wiring, she's back up and running. Thanks for the help guys. I guess this makes me certified in ignition solenoid-ology. I'll add it to my resume.

Re: Ignition Solenoid...grrrr!

I think my solenoid took a dump this past Saturday. I turn on the key and I have no gauges, no headlight, no waterpump. I checked the solenoid and I have constant 12 volt on the right side, the center post has 12 volt when the key is turned off and goes to 0 when I turn on the key, the left side has...

Re: Insurance

Thanks for the info. I just signed up with Rider. I was able to get a quote for $228.00 per year for my 2002 Big Block. The only downside is that you have to sign a paper that says they will only pay out $30,000 for the bike. I can get another 6 year old 502 for $30,000.

Insurance

If this post isn't in the right place, please tell me where to go. What insurance does everyone use? For a 502 I got a quote from National General Insurance for $521.00 and I got one from Geico for $532.00. That is for $100,000/$300,000 Is anyone getting any better rates then that?

Synthetic oil vs regular oil

After the break-in of the engine, is synthetic oil worth the extra money or does regular oil do the same thing? I also heard synthetic oil dissapates heat better. Is this true?

Re: Help starting an 2002 502

It was the small square starter relay back by the fuse block. It clicked when I pushed the start button, I had voltage on the input side but nothing on the output side. I changed it and it started right up. Thanks for the help.

Help starting an 2002 502

I was riding on Sunday and stoped to fill up with gas and when I went to start it......nothing. I used a screw driver and jumped the starter and it started. I got home and realized it's not the handlebar switch, because I can hear the small selinoid below the fuse block clicking when I push the star...
