Re: It's Been a While...Just Checking In
On the bright side, the weather has cooled off to the high 90's. I can buy new tools and gadgets and learn to do more of my own work without dying of heat stroke.

Re: It's Been a While...Just Checking In
Well, that's that. I had a feeling I might jinx it by making a post like that. Hoss is down for the count again. At least it survived daily commutes for 11 months. That's a new record for this thing. No sense harping on all the nit-picky junk that needs to be replaced.

Re: It's Been a While...Just Checking In
Just a spade-style foot peg attached to an adjustable chrome plate on the frame. The brake reservoir and brake peg are also attached to that plate.

It's Been a While...Just Checking In
I'm still out here doing my thing. Hoss remains road worthy though it keeps nickel-and-diming me, but that's just the way it goes. I do what I need to while I cuss at the heat, but then I'm still enjoying daily commutes and occasional joy rides, so it pays off. Those with whom I had telephone contac...

HA! Leave it to the Starchild to have a Peter Criss in Dallas moment!
Even so...
Crank up the big V8 and twist the throttle on the War Machine, hang on tight, and Rock and Roll all Nite (and Party Every Day)!

Re: Leaking Fork Tube Seals
If I were Daddy Rich Bucks, I'd have a beefy springer font end built for this and scrap these nasty fluid-filled forks. Oh well. Beggars can't be choosers. I'll keep on keepin' on...

Re: Leaking Fork Tube Seals
Haven't found anyone within 200 miles willing to touch it, and I don't have the means to replace the seals myself, BUT these look like some great hints that I can monkey with. I'll take a whack at it. Thank you all!

Re: Ruptured Fork Tube Seals
This is a different setup, but the concept should be the same. I figure it's at least worth trying. I suppose it couldn't hurt to try.

Re: Leaking Braided Brake Lines
Belay my last. I misdiagnosed the problem. The brake line was not weeping. The fork was leaking and dripping on it. Both fork seals started bleeding like stuck pigs.

Re: Ruptured Fork Tube Seals
Where can I find a pair of replacement seals that will fit the tubes of a 2001 Boss Hoss with inverted fork for a reasonable price?
How difficult is it to replace them via DIY, or should I run it to a shop and fork out the bucks?

Leaking Fork Tube Seals
Yesterday, I misdiagnosed what I thought was a weeping front brake line. This morning, I walked into the garage and was greeted with puddles on both sides of the front tire. My fork seals decided they'd rupture. At least I'm (ignorantly) getting two new brake lines out of it. They surely need to be ...

I'm a little bummed that I didn't get a picture of it beside my '57 Chevy Hoss, but it was plenty to have family out this way. Good times!

Leaking Braided Brake Lines
I knew it would happen sooner or later: I need to replace the aged brake lines on the trike's front wheel. The right side is starting to ooze through the braided steel. The front lines below the T-coupling are the only brake components I have not replaced since buying the trike in 2014. Fortunately,...

Loose Front Fender Mount
This morning after arriving at work, I noticed a slight gap between the end cap and the base of the fender mounting assembly around the left fork tube. Closer inspection revealed one of the 9/16" hex bolts in the base had worked its way loose and was rubbing the front tire's sidewall. I re-thre...

No. We kept to our own rides. I have no doubt he would have let me take it for a spin, but it was plenty for me just to see it. He followed me on a tour of the desert scape.knockdolian wrote:Well I like it, I think !!! Have you had a go ?

Re: Wheel Balance, better way
Following up to my front balance bead install: I took the trike out into the middle of nowhere to open it up where I could sustain 100+ MPH for several miles with no other soul in sight. The desert is great for that. All kinds of visibility. The balance beads did the trick. Fine riding on the high e...

With all the pro's and con's and confusion, it sounds like it's time to select based on price rather than brand and go with two or three of whatever you get?

Re: Ignition module
By the way, Gordon says the £50 one is better as he doesn't need to blip the throttle prior to cold starts any more, don't know how that's made the difference... That's odd, but great that it works for him. I won't argue it. I wish a module would work that magic for mine. The only thing that makes ...

Re: Ignition module
Thanks for the information. I have to disagree with you ref you get what you pay for. If I look on eBay there are several in the uk for about £40-50 that look exactly like the Chinese £10 One’s. Read in to that what you will. I take onboard what you say about renewing the grease. You say you bought...

Re: Ignition module
My experience with those has been you get what you pay for. I don't know if Accel is still made in the USA, but the off brands I have purchased from Mexico and China to save a few bucks have rapidly bitten me in the butt if they even worked to begin with. I went through several of them before biting...
