KISS: End of the Road World Tour
Yep. I'm one of THOSE (a KISS fan). My honey and I had a blast at their February 7th 2019 final concert in San Diego, California. Well worth it IMHO! We didn't ride there. We took the cage instead. Too cold in the mountains between here and there and too late at night to want to put up with riding. ...

Re: 2001 SBC Trike Minor Odds and Ends
Today's ride was a brisk 39F (4C rounded up). I got a brain freeze with the half helmet on the freeway. I could have pulled over and grabbed the full helmet out of the bin but it wasn't quite that unbearable. The rest of my face was pretty well covered, so all was well. No kooks out there which is s...

Throw in some Red Line Water Wetter if you want a tad more anti-corrosion protection and a little extra cooling.

Re: Cold Weather Riding
I thought it already had a thermostat for 180. The radiator fan comes on at 210 degrees and shuts off at 180. Are you saying that this setup does not have a thermostat? My '01 ZZ4 didn't have one. Of course, I didn't buy my BH new, so there's no telling if it had come with one and it got yanked out...

Yes...if it had a 180 thermostat the motor would stay at 180 even at 20 below F. If the fan shuts off at 180 then I would install ...

Re: 2001 SBC Trike Minor Odds and Ends
I got a rare treat today: the opportunity to ride to work in the rain...well...light drizzle. We almost never get downpours out here. The cloud cover and humidity raised the temperature at least ten degrees, so the ride was warmer overall except for on my face and shins. No worries. The denim was pl...
Re: FIRE !!
Good googly-moogly! I'm glad you managed to put the fire out and all's well! If you don't already have one, is there a good spot for mounting a small fire extinguisher on your trike?

Re: 2001 SBC Trike Minor Odds and Ends
Just a suggestion, instead of ground black pepper, AC Delco sells Cooling System Seal Tabs. Part numbers are:10-108 (12378255). The package comes with five (5) 4 gram tablets. Use it with coolant (anti-freeze). Most all parts counters at GM dealerships should sell it. Good luck![/quote] Thank you f...

2001 SBC Trike Minor Odds and Ends
Nothing significant, just coming up with something to post is all... New radiator leak. No $$$ to replace the radiator. Was repaired a little over a year ago because of damage from road debris. Time for it to start falling apart, I suppose (17 years old). Poured some ground black pepper in the coola...

Re: Thank you for letting me join!
Speaking from experience, the newest and the fewer previous owners possible, the better. Best to purchase from a dealer of some kind who has gone over it with a fine-toothed comb. Mine was a little shy of 14 years old (2001 model built in February) when I bought it, and I'm owner #8. It's been a re...

Man, that stinks! I don't know most of the people here, but it's sad to see so many passing away in so short a time (four short years I've been around V8 bike land)! Rest in Peace, Indiana Geezer!

Re: Time to Clean the Front Dual Brake Calipers
Just a thought to check the flow to the 2 brakes, Y not have someone pull the brake lever while you open BOTH bleeder at the same time??? Then you'll know if you're getting proper flow to both brakes. Also, Y not blow out the brake piston with air and fine sandpaper it down. You could also lightly ...

Re: Time to Clean the Front Dual Brake Calipers
The right front brake pistons are definitely inconsistent in retracting though they are relatively new, have been cleaned thoroughly, and still have good seals. The master cylinder/hand brake assembly is new and still in prime condition, too. I am now wondering whether I should turn my attention to ...

Second Replacement Set of Rear Turn Signals Arrived
My second set of replacement rear turn signals has arrived from J&P Cycles. The first replacement set was fine until a weld broke and one of the original (17 years old) mounting brackets flopped off onto the asphalt with the left turn signal housing at about 50 MPH. Oops! That wasn't supposed to...
