It can`t come disconnected as long as the servo rod is in there.

Re: Crushed Pickup Filter...

When the band is adjusted properly the lever should have 1/2 inch or a little better movement. If the band is broken the lever would move far enough to completely compress the spring. Also the band anchor is usually found in the pan when the band breaks.
Hope this helps.

Re: 502 top end

We got the bike running today and it looks like I am going to have to learn to ride it all over again... WOW!!!! roll into it at 50 and I gotta be real easy getting into the secondaries. A fairly aggressive roll on will blow through the rear tire at 70-80. Gonna take some finesse to relearn my throt...

Re: 502 top end

Well... made good progress today ut now I found out the stock pushrods are too short... Becuase of the different lifters I think... Could be the heads but I doubt it.. The intake and exhaust ports are raised but The heads appear basically the same other than that. We decided the best route on the br...

Re: 502 top end

Wild Bill posted on the other site this morning a picture of his frame broken in the same place... nothing to feel and no way to know it is broken until you tear it down and look. All three bikes that are broken have over 35000 miles. I can fix it but it does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling. I thin...

El.. I recently sold my 01 ford lightning that came equipped with an eaton blower.. Man that thing sounded awesome under load... I know what you mean. I had the chance to see Kim`s bike in Dyersburg but it was hard to see much as it is pretty crowded in there. Milwaukee boss hoss had a sierra trike ...

Re: 502 top end

Got the bike apart today... Looks good. The single plane air gap intake turned out to be the same height as the stock manifold with a NOS plate. I did find the right front motor mount had pulled out of the frame tube and left a big hole. This is the second 502 I have seen do this.
here are some pics.

Re: 502 Sanderson headers

Hi pete... Sanderson header Co. is in San Francisco so it`s not far from here. When I took my bike there to have the headers made I was specific about not wanting an increase in width because I have a short inseam. Boyd did a great job of turning the primary tubes down so as to not make it any wider...

Re: Selector Shaft tension spring

Rob.. here is a great post by eastern mike about the sprind replacement. His is an 03 so there are no tubes to get around but still may be of some help. Here are the steps that worked for replacing the shaft: 1. Drain pan by removing one of the pan bolts. 2. Remove pan from the tranny. 3. While it i...

Re: 502 top end

I`ve got most of the part here for my top end... Just waiting on rocker arms. When I ordered the edelbrock kit from Summit their listing said the lifters were included... They are not but I got them at 60% off for the mistake and Summit fixed the error on their page. So far it`s shaping up like this...
