Re: Winter Boredom
Also very boring here in Des Moines with a high temp of zero today.
Spent much of the day watching DVD's of previous La Crosse rallys
and Boss Hoss burnouts. Then started looking at real estate in
Florida on the internet. Told Deb I found a house for us with a
six car garage and callled her over to computer to look at it.
When she saw it was in Port Orange Florida she gave me that
look like are you really that crazy?![Twisted Evil ](./images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)

I guess we can only wait until the snow melts.
Erie, Pa. 12/21/08 10PM Temp 4.4F with the wind feels like -19.
This will help warm things up.

Re: Winter Boredom
Hey, what winter boredom are you talking about???? I have lots of changes at the bike to do every year which keep me busy like hell
The only time I experienced a winter boredom was from 1996 to 1998...I have had a Honda at that time and was bored like hell, cause nothing was to do at that bike except washing and greasing the drive chain...that thing bored me all winter...hahahahaha...that was the reason I sold it and bought the Boss Hoss instead

Re: Winter Boredom
"Keeping the tire companies in business", for sure!!! I have a new Falken on the bike, another new one sitting in the floor, a new 245 Dunlop mounted on the spare rim, and 3 well used Avon 230's that I would give away. I am ready to play.
My new 90 watt Firstgear electric jacket liner and controller came in a couple of days ago. I plan to install today or tomorrow and when this 20 degree crap is gone, I intend to play!!!!!!

Harold, what is a 90 watt Firstgear electric jacket liner and controller? Is that a jacket with heater?? Never heard of that, just curious....Harold Blocker wrote:"Keeping the tire companies in business", for sure!!! Re: Winter Boredom
Olaf,
Yes, it is like an electric blanket with a thermostat! You can dial up the temperature that you want. They also make electric gloves and electric chaps that plug into the wiring in the jacket liner. I bought the dual controller so that the gloves/chaps can be controlled separately. J & P Cycles (among others) sells them. They are made by "Firstgear".

Re: Winter Boredom
Harold please give us a report on how the heated gear works.
I have been thinking about getting some for quite some time.
It's gonna be a long winter.![Crying or Very Sad ](./images/smilies/icon_cry.gif)

Re: Winter Boredom
Ron,
Will do. They have male and female versions in two heat ranges. I bought the 90 watt model, they have a 65 watt version for those with limited electrical power. I'd rather have too much as not enough! (I think that's what Boss Hoss is all about!!!) I'm sure it's going to work nicely. It'll sure beat freezing. I've rode all day in 26 degrees before, but it wasn't much fun. Merry Christmas to you and Deb!

Re: Winter Boredom
Thanks for the info, Harold. I really have never seen or heard about such a jacket. It might be a northern states item which they are not selling here...hmmmHarold Blocker wrote:Olaf,

Re: Winter Boredom
Olaf,
Take a look. They really help if you ride in cold weather.

I also ordered a dual controller so I can separately control electric gloves.

Re: Winter Boredom
I usually don't ride during winter, but that's interesting.
Also very reasonable priced!
Thanks,
Olaf

will be "on the beach" even my mother wondered why I came home. You and Deb need to look at motorcoaches
then you can play with your pennys AND go to alot of rallys.
