Contest of Speed,, Have you on your Hoss?

Just wondering, have any of you run or raced cars on your Hoss? not trying to get anyone to get into a race,, but if you have already, what did you run? who won? was it close? reason i am asking i got a patron at the bar with a 09 LS-3 corvette and he wants to run sometime. inquiring minds want to know,,, if you want to speak up,,,,

We've occasionally blasted by a 'Vette or Rustang on the street but I can only go by ET's at the track. A stock Viper or Z06 'Vette is good for perhaps low 12's. High 11's at the very best. A bigblock Boss is probably in the mid 11's although I can't swear to it. We ran at the 1/8th mile track and high 6's - low 7's was pretty normal. Not sure what that converts to with 1/4 mile but I don't any of the production cars can touch it. Small block Boss is that much different as far as track time. David Ward had some low 10's on his V8Choppers. It would take a pretty modified hot rod to beat that on the street. Most of the cars doing less than 10 seconds come to the track on a trailer.

Darryl, Last summer I was at the Cordova Dragway in Illinios riding
the wifes 2008 Boss Hoss 57 Chevy trike. The local Corvette club
was having their annual night at the 1/4 mile track. They let me race
3 different Vettes and It wasn't even close the trike ran 11.7 sec
and the fastest vette was like 12.7 sec. Guess what it came down to
was the LS-2 trike with 425hp and weighing about 1500 pounds
could outrun a 500hp Vette weighing nearly twice as much.

The 1/8 mile time for Debs trike was 7.45 sec so it sure
isn't even close to as fast as your 502 bike. My old blue
big block trike would run 7.05 sec and my V8 Chopper trike
will run 6.50 seconds. I plan on running the Chopper at a
1/4 track this spring and am guessing I can run just over
10 seconds. Just typing this brought back a lot of memories
and man am I ready for spring!

A friend of mine had just got his Cobra Kit Car
back from having the engine freshly rebuilt.
We got on a l-o-o-o-o-o-ng straight, each doing 50mph.
We both went WFO with smirks on our faces.
His 351 was pushing about 650 H.P. at that time.
Me with just 355.
The bike walked away from his Cobra.
Then at 145 mph, my front wheel started oscillating
rather badly. Thought I was gonna be
highway hamburger meat.
My windshield was bending down flat like doing the limbo.
I gradually decreased throttle, and it came back from
roaming all over both lanes of the highway.
Really scared me! Won't do THAT again!
His speedo read 145 while he kept pace with me as
he watched my front tire wiggle.
That's is why the steering damper would be a GREAT
addition to my bike!

thanks for all the replies. i have only seen the guy one night at the bar since i have been home this time. so who knows when we'll race. i would be more for say a 30 on roll on as i do not like getting wild down low speed. anyway i will post when we go for it.

I call a moderator and was told, and i believe them, The software in the forum picks on words like ass, fuck shit..you get my drift
