OK, I'm back. As some of you know, I converted my bike to a Ranger. I have a blog dedicated to the transformation as well as some of my views on related subjects and random rants. My techniques are my own and do not reflect, in anyway, the quality of work that Big John produces. The only reason that I am bringing this up again is to say that, at this time, I am 200% satisfied with the Ranger. I have no reverse, but I never did, so I don't miss it. Pick your parking places carefully. I don't have a Mickey Mouse parking brake. I park in gear. I have no trans cooler, so my engine runs cooler and I have one less leak. I have run to the top of the Grapevine in SoCal in high at 70-80 MPH and could just as easily do the same thing up the Vail Pass to Denver, pulling a trailer and a sidecar if I chose. I have chain drive. I am not entirely happy with that decision, but, for now, it works. I will be getting a cutter for the RPP tooth pattern and as soon as I hone my skills, I will cut a new alloy rear pulley so I can use the Gates Eliminator belt. At that point, I will be, almost, bullet proof. Stay tuned to my blog for the, soon to be announced, super LeGatz, double throw down, board certified La Fong Water Pump.

Thanks for the input, John, I'm interested in your tooth-cutting.
get with me when you start messing with the ratios-I have some ideas that could save you trouble, maybe vice-versa, as well.
I've been running an Eliminator, for 5 years, now-love it.

Reilley is coming down here next week for a visit,
I'm going to have a look at his sky-hi gearing.
Maybe we can get him into an eliminator.
He's running a chain, now
What are your sprocked teeth numbers, Carl,
out of curiosity?
I think John is running something around 2:40 with a 25" tire.
I'm running 2:70 with a 27 inch tire-80mph is 2750rpm's.
Ranger bike#1 (Jeff) is pulling slightly higher gears than mine, with chain drive and a taller tire.
It goes good on the freeway, but not really hot around town. Changing to tire of a smaller diameter would probably solve that.
I'm happy with mine, it's good off the line, and top end is fine.
gets 20+ mpg anyway you drive it, even better if grandma drives, like 25 or even a little better, but who does that, very much?
