When we get to Miami we`ll give the boss hoss guys a hard time and twist their tails a little... They`ll join in... Even if it takes a little "refreshment session"..... I think more are game than are chiming in..

Dave,

I've heard a bunch of bold claims some of which aren't believable to me. I'm not from Missouri but "seeing is believing" with some of this stuff. I've heard all kinds of incredible numbers from Adrian and the Minnesota crowd. Marv is a balls to the walls guy and he very well may have had some of the numbers that were broadcast some time back. I was disappointed not to see any of that crowd including Marv go to the track in Tulsa last year. Hopefully they'll come next May.

With that said, what I've personally seen is Gary do a 5.97 in the 1/8th, Marco Mike do a 5.90 in the 1/8th, Gary do a 9.86 in the 1/4, Dave Ward and I both do a 10.1 in the 1/4, and myself and Dave Ward breaking 140 mph in the 1/4. Ron seems to be getting consistent mid 6's in the 1/8th on his trike.

Tom,

I hope you're right about the BH guys being quiet but hopefully being game. I'm starting with some "tail twisting" soon unless a few step up to the plate. I guess my comment about hanging nitrous bottles and hp claims via paint or decals suggests I'm starting sooner than later. As mentioned, at least Deb seems willing to champion their camp   (.)< .

I know some of you guys are sick of hearing this and don't believe it but Adrian claims he turned the quarter mile at some strip in Cal. in 8.86 seconds 157 mph with his 2000 SB bike . I know the time seems incredible but why would he lie about something that has to be on record . I believe him .

Jack, In life I always try to apply a little common sense when I hear
some of the tall tails that circulate. All one has to do is watch the videos
of Mike Kelly, Gary, and the other crazy bastards racing in Florida and you
should realize that is about as fast as you can push a big bukly V-8 bike.
Those bikes sure as hell are not stock small blocks. Even those bad to
the fucking bone hotrod bikes can't hit 8.86 seconds in the 1/4.

I have been racing my trikes at a few strips that still allow Trikes
to race for the last couple years. On a couple occasions I have
been handed a timeslip that just is too good to be true. Just last
summer I had my red smoke tires on my Chopper trike and was
making huge clouds of smoke just to entertain the crowd and after
one pass they handed me a 6.33 slip in the 1/8 mile. All my other
passes were well over 7 seconds with my smoke tires on the trike.
But the best example I can remember was at Conesville Iowa last
May when I made a pass down the 1/8 mile that wasn't anything
special and I was handed a timeslip that stated 5.15 seconds in
the 1/8 mile. Now I might try to bullshit the Harley crowd that
my V-8 ran a 5 second 1/8 mile but I won't insult everyones
intelligence with such a story here on the V-8 site where anyone
who has ever been to a track would know I was full of shit.

All I am trying to say is common sense tells me something
malfunctioned or went wrong in Adrians 8.86 run.
And I am guessing ANYONE who actually has had
a V-8 bike/trike at a strip knows that.

Jack, you see the post here with the video showing Ron's 229 mph run? I've been going to the track and racing since 1968. The clock is ALMOST always right. Almost.

When Gary ran his 9.86 at 135 mph this past May in Tulsa, he was on a bike that weighed at least 200 lbs less than Adrians, makes at least 100 more than Adrian's ZZ4 did and that's without the 125 shot he was using at the track. Now we have 225 hp difference, 200 lbs, no need to shift, and a driver who's probably the best drag track performer I've ever hung with. What's missing here? My bike weighed almost 200 lbs less than Adrians Boss Hoss, my motor makes at least 150 more hp, and I sprayed it with 100 shot of nitrous. Anyone realize what one full second difference equates to in how many bike lengths? Perhaps 12 bikes or more. And Adrian ran almost 15 mph more than me? No fucking way.

Sorry, I'm hanging with Ron and everyone else who's chewed on this and is track experienced. No one's telling Adrian he's full of shit or betraying their friendship with him disbelieving this one. There's just something not right about it and it's not a good story to back or believe in.

Hell.... I remember one time at the track in my bone stock 62 falcon 6 banger... It hooked up real good and even though I missed second, I made up for it on the top end with a lightning fast shift to 3rd and ran a 9.20 at almost the speed of sound!!!!
ACTUALLY... I`ve been playing with hotrod street cars for most of my life but have yet to make a pass at the strip.... Can`t wait til May.

V8 Chopper wrote:Some time ago I spent a lot of time at the Pro NHRA events with the Pro Stock teams. At one event I was with Bob Glidden and a race team made a qualifying pass. This particular team would rarely run fast enough to make the 16 car field. After the pass they had a time slip in their hands showing number 1 qualifier with a 60 foot time that was almost a tenth of a second faster than any pro stock car had ever done. A tenth may not sound like much until you see that there is usually only a couple of hundreths separating 1-16 positions. This is with the best timing equipment out there. In fact it was at Indianapolis Raceway Park. The bottom line... The NHRA threw it out as impossible.

The results in May will tell the truth as to what times different bikes are capable of.

David

David, I think everyone in a nice way is saying the same thing. Your story on top of my story on top of Tom's fable (ha ha), on top of Ron's story on top of numerous WTF's that were expressed when Adrian first made those numbers public clearly show that there is no way, no how. I wish it would go away frankly. Bull shit is fine for a bit but this has been coming up for years now and it's not even laughable anymore. If the track ever handed me a slip that showed a time like a bad ass Pro Street car or such, I'm not going to hold it up and say; "look what I did boys!"

I ask a simple question and look where it goes. I hope everyone on both boards reads this. This is the kind of stuff that will bring the crowds to the track. Maybe we could get the MICHIGAN MADMAN to make one last run!! Top off the program with a rumor that Petes Vanquish will also be racing, half naked flag girls and TV crews will be there. Dave/Squirm

Dave, Couple years ago Shane and I were racing at Conesville and we got a topless
chick to come out of the crowd and start us out topless. Only trouble was poor Shane
sat at the starting line looking at the tits so he got smoked. Maybe Shane could post
that video.

Seems that video has disappeared from their website and unfortunately the way it was posted I never could save it. Maybe it will be back someday or I can email them and get a copy. I think I posted a link in the past and don't recall any replies to my post so no one must have been interested in titties and racing anyway.

Jees, It would be a shame to have to get some ugly ass chick with corrective stockings and a mustache as the flagger just so you'll leave the line in record time. Dave

WM, I won't be running down the track this year with you guys as I never been a drag racer. I just don't have the passion for it that some of you guys have. I'm happier than a pig in shit just riding to Miamuh and being a spectator at the drags, hanging with all the V8 guys at the meet and riding back to Las Vegas. If my bike makes it both directions without any major problems I feel like I won some kind of thing. If it don't, I get to have some different kind of adventure to deal with and at least still feel like I was in the race. I'll help rent the track and promote the drags because it will be another day of fun for all of us and if we all chip in we can make it happen. This year I feel like I know a few more people than I did last year and I'm looking forward to Miamuh more than ever. The ride there and back from Las Vegas goes through beautiful country and all around Miami the riding is awesome. The Buffalo Run Casino gave us a great deal and Stan and his crew set up everything perfect. All in all the East Meets West event is perfect for me. Dave

WM, Els has the drag race passion. He thrives on it. It would make his day if every V8 bike at Miami would race. I don't think it would matter that much where in the mix he ended up as long as his bike ran good and he figured he rode good. He will try to get everyone he can to race. I think its like when I want everybody to ride to wherever and I give the guy static who wants to trailer. Really its because the more guys that ride in the pack the more fun you usually have. Probably holds true with the drags also. Its got to be more fun racing a bunch of guys than just one. The only thing for certain is that those that go to Miami will all have a good time. Dave

Thanks Dave. That about sums it up. 8-)

Wildman, it was actually Tommy that referenced "twist their tails" but sounds good to me. :)

"I personally don't give a fuck what anyone turns at the track" (Jack's quote)... I guess Jack won't be going to the track.

Yes

We are currently looking for a semi-driver, CDL required to park \
a semi across interstate 44. We figure about a hour is all the
time we will need.

You know of anyone ??
