in recent years have thought of going 'rat' myself with the 'ol 01...8ball stick shift, maybe put some 4wd tyres on, ride it home a few times (ie; 20 mile of gravel roads), let the chrome go to hell. It would be super cool too but i just cant bring myself to do it

Just drop it into the ocean for a few years I guess...that is a good start on the rust anyways..then smoke WAY too much pot and think of some other customizing...
