Ron and I are in Conesville, IA at the Thunder In The Sand Rally. As many of you know, this is one of Ron's favorite places to be. Lot's of beer, drag racing on an 1/8 mile track and not many rules! Thursday started off really nice but about 5 pm the clouds rolled in and it rained for maybe a half hour. Then we got this amazing double rainbow! It was really vivid and you could see the entire lower one. It was so big I had to photograph it in segments.




After the rain and rainbow it turned into a really nice evening. Here are pics of our campsite. We camp with a group of people from Illinois.

On Friday Ron and I went to the dragstrip, signed up for some test and tune passes. I almost had him in our first pass! Of course he waits for me to leave the line (my reaction time is awful!) then he goes up in smoke and when he finally hooks up he passes me. Darn! I think I need NOS!

Keepem comin, it's a slow weekend at work for me

After the drag racing on Friday, Ron and I went back to the camp for some supper then we all sat around to watch the people walking by. Since there is a wheel in front of our campsite and a sign that says "Spin The Wheel - Win a Thong" we had a lot of people stopping to check it out. This first pic is a gal who gave it a spin and landed on "Booby Wash".

This gal just wanted her picture taken on Ron's V8 Chopper and you know he has a rule about that!

This gal landed on "Topless Hula Hoop" and also wanted her picture taken on Ron's Chopper and since she was already topless Ron had to modify his rule. I also tried to get you all a pic of the cute little furry tail she was wearing but Ron moved it just as I snapped the pic. Oh well, I think you can still kind of see it.

Shane came up for the rally but didn't get there til almost 1 in the morning so he missed out on all the fun Friday night. But he and Ron put on quite a show for the crowd when the hit the dragstrip! They had stunt bikes at the rally similar to what we all saw in Dyersburg the last year it was there. They were awesome!


Saturday night they used a jet engine to roast a bus or truck. I should have used video so you all could have heard the sound. It was impressive, as were the flames!

Back home from another GREAT weekend in Conesville.

Now back to work for a week and then off to Paris.

Need to get another set of Red smoke tires on Chopper
before we leave. The last set must have been defective
as they only lasted 36 hours and maybe 10 miles.

Geezer you should have been at Conesville, there was a young lady at Conesville asking the V8 riders if they knew you. Her name was Brittany. I told her I would tell you "Hi" from her.

Shit now I gotta cancel my plane ticket I just purchased
to Australia. Was planning a trip to straighten that
boy out.

Now I'm just gonna take my Nitrous tank to get filled
and a set of BFG drag radials to the speed shop and
get ready for my visit to a legitimate dragstrip this
weekend. Hopefully I will have videos of my chopper
eating some rice bikes for lunch to post shortly.
