Nesco

Post by Carl La Fong »

I find it odd that there isn't much discussion on the whole Nesco deal. I would have thought that there would be a hue and cry that would be audible as the villagers descend on their facilities, armed with pitchforks and torches. Unless someone picks up, where they left off, parts are going to dry up quickly. Some seem to be banking on Mountain to finish their new trans. Well, good luck with that. Even if they do, how many will spend the 10 to 15K that it will probably cost, exclusive of installation. Same with a, Vanquish style, Powerglide. Both would be great for a redesigned bike but, as a retrofit unit, there is no option on the horizon, at least that I am aware of. Hopefully, BH has secured the patterns and programs for the trans and are looking for a another vendor to build new Nescos. They aren't the greatest trans in the world but they are the only practical one out there right now.
Which one of you will lunch his planetary gearset and find that someone else bought the last one?

I think a lot of us know a little and were each asked to keep it quiet. So as much as "we" all want to discuss what we know we also want to keep our word not to talk.

How's that for beating around the bush???

That is exactly why my comments are vague. I CAN tell you that IF you nade your tranny and want to go the Vanquish route ... its the better part of $20K and they have to install it as its not just a simple bolt in.

Huh?!?!?!
I don't recall anyone asking me to keep this under my hat. The cat is, pretty much, out of the bag, anyway. We all know that BH isn't going to talk about it because it will scare off potential customers plus they are not in a habit of posting on any of the websites. However, if anyone wants to go all hush hush, then be my guest.

During Daytona Bikeweek I have been talking to Doug about this issue.
He told me that within a couple of weeks they have a deal closing with another company that will step in producing the nesco. He also assured me that they will build bikes in the future.
No further detail was provided...........so believe it .....or not..... :hmmmm:

Though I have my Ranger and couldn't care less about Nescos, I don't want to see anyone get grounded over lack of parts

Carl,

Lots of rumours were out and are out and some of the stuff posted is true and some not...how is that for an analogy.

Fact is that those in the know cannot say it all as either they are Factory reps, as in me, or they have been asked by those working on solutions to do so. I think that is what Susan was referring to?

Press release.
After a nation wide lottery and a systematic series of bribes and sexual favors, CLF Laboratories and Used Condom Recyclers is proud to announce that they are the new vendor for the updated Nesco transmission. Re named, the Fong-o-Matic, it promises to be the most high tech, up to date unit since the famous and legendary Dynaclaw 4 speed. The cases will be cast here in our foundry from, mostly, empty PBR cans, in keeping with our green technology. We have contracted with Ezra Yoder of the Amish Wagon Works in Lancaster, PA to manufacture the planetary gearsets from old growth shagbark hickory using old world, hand craftsmanship. All expenses have been spared in bringing the V8 motorcycle world this exciting new product.
Deliveries are expected soon and will be available through selected dealers only

Where is the moderator, with his giant delete button?? Just be glad that you haven't stirred my two detractors into a frenzy. :catfight:
I don't get the whole deal. First, the posts are the most oddly phrased (and I won't even mention the spelling.....oops, I just did) mish mash of disconnected thoughts that I have read in some time. Your comment that transmissions and parts will be available soon seemed clear to me. Dragging Wildrose into the quagmire is kinda weird.
Hell, I bought a melon at the supermarket last week and it tasted lousy. I believe it's your fault

I was also amused at venturys lack of talent with the English vocabulary....Now I know why my watermelon tasted weird,....Thanks a lot Barry...Apparently all the worlds ills are your fault...
