9th Annual V8 Motorcycle Run - Daytona Bike Week 2013

Just a quick update on the 9th Annual V8 Motorcycle Run:

- Wednesday, March 13th
- Kickstands up 3:00pm. This is a change from past years - to accommodate the Daytona Police Department's shift schedule - for our escort.
- Starting point = Custom Works in Daytona
- Ending point = The Boot Hill Saloon in Ormond Beach (across from The Iron Horse Saloon).
- Yes, we will once again have a police-escorted parade down Main Street! I would like to say a special Thank You to Ted Kishner of Custom Works for his tremendous help in setting that up! YOU are the man, Ted!!!
- All brands of V8-powered bikes and trikes are welcome, including home builts.
- Sponsorship opportunities are available (private message me here for details).
- There is no cost for this ride. We will be accepting donations at the event for The Shriners Hospitals for Children, as we do each year. All proceeds go directly to the kids, so PLEASE donate generously!
- We will once again be partnering-up with The Rats Hole Show for this event. There will be a judged show and a great time had by all at The Boot Hill Saloon - Party! Please plan on staying for a good, long while.

FYI - The Rats Hole Show people are running a huge sale on their shirts - including last year's V8 Motorcycle Run event shirt which featured the California Boss Hoss super custom bike. They are now $10.00 and you will also get FREE shipping. Here is the link:

Peter, sounds great! Looking forward to meeting you as well. I spend most of my days hanging around Stan's setup with V8Choppers at the Int'l Speedway and will be looking for you there. I usually stay a week but unfortunately, only 3 or so days this year.

Do you know Olaf? If so, do you know if he's going to Daytona this year? I sure hope so.

Els, the Speedway is a great place to meet. My son studies at Embry Riddle which is just there too. I will be in Daytona March 8th till 14th.
I know Olaf very well. Unfortunatley he will not come to Daytona.

Just got a welcome call from Doctor/Mister/Professor Steve Barr who very graciously again invited me to camp at his condo in South Daytona Shores this Bike Week . Very lucky for me and kind of Steve. We always have a blast there. Was wondering who else may be staying there or in the immediate area? We'll be at the Tropic Shores. I know Jack & Cheryl, Buck & Susan are generally there. Anyone else?

We've had great weather so far this winter but it all comes to a crashing end next week with forecast highs below zero. I'm thinking Daytona will be a real welcome relief by then. Looking forward to seeing those of you who will be there.

The party just got wilder for sure with that information ! Tropic Shores will have one of the best looking parking lots in Daytona with the crowd of V8's that will be there.

Steve Barr gets there on a Saturday, I'll be there Sunday or Monday the final week. Hoping to enjoy some good along with the usual comraderie this year.

just want to make an offer. We live about 30 miles from Daytona in Deland and have space for several trailers. If anyone needs a place to park their trailer for the week you are welcome to park it here.

Damn! there goes the neighborhood, so much for our property values.

We will be there and hope to get in a few days early, Tue or Wed., if we can buy a few extra nights. Really looking forward to this, we need to get out of N.C. for a few days.

Please see NEW changes at the very top of this thread. We have changed the start time to 3:00pm to accommodate the Daytona Police Department since they have graciously offered to escort us through town and down Main Street once again. Also, we will be starting the ride at Custom Works in Daytona, like we did last year, and ending the ride at a new location, The Boot Hill Saloon in Ormond Beach.

Please plan on hanging out with the group for a good long while at the end of the ride - we will have a judged show with Rat's Hole Show plaques given out, drinks and a band! Food will be available for purchase. Let's keep that party going!!!

I get SO emotional each year when I think about the generosity of this V8 family and how much we freely give to the kids who are receiving care at The Shriners Hospitals for Children. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR PARTICIPATING!!!

Very kind of you to offer. I very well may ask to take you up on this. After leaving Daytona, I'll be heading back to Ft. Myers anyhow and that would work well. Tropic Shores changed their accommodations for trailer parking and it's not for the better . There was some parking down the boulevard at a church property but last year, I came a bit late and got their last spot. Had it not been for that, I would have been S.O.L.

Buck, every neighborhoods gotta have one. I'll be the one degrading the character content of the Tropic Shores residents this year I guess. Can't take us NC types anywhere !

I can see where arriving late during bike week could be a problem for finding trailer parking but for those arriving the first Sat of bike week should have no problem finding a place to park their trailer . I know the drive in church that Els mentioned usually has spots early and there are several other trailer parking lots scattered around the area . I don't have any numbers but I have seen signs advertising parking here and there .
