I have the guys chomping at the bit in my shop to grab the Holley Sniper and prove they can make it work...hmmmm what to do what to do...

One on the nice things about the MSD was that it did not need a return fuel system... this Holley Sniper DOES. That means that you either already have a bung somewhere on your tank(s) to return fuel to, or you'll be cutting and welding on your gas tank. This wasn't an option for me in my garage.

This TB would never fit on my bike - the bosses to the left and the right, the fuel rails, wouldn't fit between my gas tanks. Not sure how much room you have for yours, but it might be worth looking into.

The only other part of my installation I didn't think was awesome, my intake manifold already has a coolant sensor for the fan relay. I had to put my coolant sensor in my passenger side head right next to the header, and I had to use an adapter to make it work. Not a big deal, but wasn't a perfect solution. When I rebuild it again this winter or spring, I'll remove the sensor in the intake, and run the fan relay off of the MSD.

I picked uop the heads today and after I chatted with the fellow that redid the heads...knowledgable guy...we decided that we should take the pistons out and replace the rings as the trike was not only running rich rich but was using quite a bit of oil..lots of deposits...

Sooooo..guess what that means??..YES sir...cut the crossmember to remove the pan and make the crossmember removable...

A small project has turned big but the good news is we have the time now...the rest is money

Holley does own MSD and they will keep the MSD EFI around from what I am told. They are still running as two separate businesses.

The Terminator T body has been not my favorite due to fuel distribution, we have had several where between 1800-2200 there was just no way to fix some of the cylinders being lean and others rich.

MSD is ok but the problem is you are locked into a "self tuning program"

What I want to do is have a system that will self learn and also can be tuned with a laptop and will follow our program. If we need to fix something we can, if you are locked into self learning well..... maybe not.

Right now we are doing an install on a 502 bike in the shop. I am leaning towards using the Holley HP ecu along with the FAST EZ 2.0 throttle body. The throttle body is the same size and dimensions as a Holley 750 carb. I have all of this stuff on hand so we will be doing some fitting and see what we can come up with.

I will be posting some pics of it on our facebook page Boss Hoss West and also TheEFIStore facebook pages. I will also try to post some here when I have time.

Once I get pricing I will let everyone know, as of now there are 3 others that would like the same thing so we are looking at building a few of the harnesses at the same time.

I hope it's OK for me to chime in here. I am the happy owner of the 502 that Brian and Gabe and crew are going to work their magic on.

Don from Cali BH took 'Miss C' (seen here outside Brian's shop) up to Lake Havasu and Brian's shop and I drove up from Phoenix to say hello. The shop has so many amazing EFI options / combinations available.

I am now a kid waiting for his Christmas present!

We got her stripped down today and working on fitment stuff. Did you get my email back Oldun? It bounced back from your spam. Then I resent it.

Thanks Brian. Just saw the photos on your facebook pages. Much better than mine by far!

I did not get your email sorry, had a look in the spam folder too. Maybe pm on this site?

Best regards

You're the tuner, not me, but you have a bit of control with the MSD that may not be apparent based on the small dashboard interface. Just not sure how much time you've spent with one.

The self tuning has worked OK for me. I have other gremlins I'm fighting unrelated to the EFI.

I looked up the dimensions of all of the throttle bodies before I bought mine. If you compare the dimensions, and the MSD might fit, I could maybe pull mine off and send it over to you to test fit if you want.

I have used all of them and you can change a few things with the MSD but I wouldnt call it tuneable. In most cases it will run rich from the short exhaust and cam overlap. That is typical with this type of deal without having access to the real tuning stuff.

Just a note that I am totally in support of what Brian is doing after chatting
with him a few days ago
I initially said I was hopeful for what he was building and would most likely wait.
But I have 4 impatient guys at the shop wanting to prove they can get it done
So right or wrong I am leaving it in their hands. They have a ton of experience with the aftermarket Harley tuner by Thundernax and that should help them.
I am keeping a good thought that
what they end up with works and works well. If not then Plan B. Lol

When the pistons came out my techs found a bad rod bearing on #6.

Not sure why or how but it was the only one. Trike has only a bit over 20,000 miles..it had 1,500 miles already when I bought it.

Good thing we did a complete teardown to clean up the pistons and put new rings.

Brian, I hear ya on the exhaust. There was some concern on the MSD forum about my short exhaust run and the placement of the wideband. The AFR readings look good on my gauge, and once I get the ignition swapped out (XDI vs the HPV-1 I have) I'm hoping my bugs work themselves out.

I don't have short exhaust on the trike so that is in my favor...

Yup, pick a side, keep it away from any bends, and clock it in the tube as to not collect condensation. I hid mine as best I could, they are especially pretty. lol.

Any update Brian on your progress?? you were hoping for a completion in January...

The new intake manifold arrived today.

We decided on a new manifold that is almost 2 inches shorter to help fit the Holley Fi between the frame rails..

One plus is that I will be able to use an airfilter twice as tall as what I had

it is indeed a tight fit...fuel pump and hoses should arrive from Summit tomorrow...

O2 sensor and exhaust were installed back on the motor today.

If I were to guess a good guess...we should have it running by the end of next week...COOL!!!

One of my customers who bought the Green Willys SB from me was in today and very excited about doing FI on his trike once I get my fully tested this spring.
