Hi folks,
may one of you has an idea. (hopefully )
When I start my bike (cold) the transmission slidley already wants to move the bike in neutral!!
Then after Motortemperature is warm I put in the first gear and it takes some time that the bike wants to move.
What can that be? Is it the first sign that the tranny is going?

If I drive some miles and the Bike is warm, everything is o.k.

It is a 2001 and it could be already a "B" version.

It is normal for the bike to kinda lurch ahead slightly in neuteral when stated cold . Also some converters take a little longer to fill than others after setting for a while also normal on some bikes . I wouldn't worry about it and just keep your trans cool , fluid clean a nd up to the mark on the sight tube with the bike running in neutral and don't power shift to second or accelerate hard in second or use reverse at anything over an idle or try to back up a hill or over a curb . IN other words baby the shit out of second and reverse and do all your abuse in low gear .

He is 1000% Correct. Do not let it concern you at all. Just be prepared for it when you are starting cold.

I have a front brake locking device that I in gauge when starting cold and release it after the bike warms up some .

Have you changed tranny oil ? An filter ? On my 2001 the tech installed the wrong filter it was about 1" to long an when I put in reverse it crushed the filter tip an some of the filter adhesive got into some of the ports what a bummer so if it was changed make sure correct length an don't use reverse until changed out

Did make no oil change, just wondering about that. I think I have to calm down.
Next step is to built a that front brake locking device like hogV8 did.
Next month I want to do oil changes on tranny and engine. See what happens.

I just found out, that I can move the front pulley-shaft 2-4mm axial, shit!!!

someone had that before??

My 2007 is the same in neutral startup. I usually sit on the bike on the sidestand and rest my foot on the rear brake, then stab the button. It soon settles down and I can release.

Don't know about the pulley movement, haven't tried mine...

Love my Ranger 3 for this very reason!

I never really start a cold Hoss without sitting on the bike and being in command...they never lurch more than an inch or two that I remember and that is good for the heart and blood flow anyways

my Bike has no more propulsion in first gear!

It happens during cruising. There was no cracking noise ore something. Oil looks great, no metall in it, reverse is working.

It´s a 2001 SB with an A ore B gearbox.

What can that be???
