What is the torque specification for the triple tree bolts that secure the inverted fork tubes on a SB Boss Hoss (early 2000's)? Based on an old thread I found from 2003 on the v8bikeriders forum, it looks like the factory spec. is 55 ft-lbs for the steering head (pinch bolts). The thread is a little vague, but it appears to be referencing an SBC configuration.

Hmmm... It looks like I might be mixing apples and oranges? The thread was likely referencing the bolt that secures the head bearings...

The manual for my '09 says 40 lbs. for the fork brace pinch bolts and 55 lbs. for the steering stem bolt.

Would that be with the weight off the front or the wheel on the ground. I checked mine today and there is I big difference ?
Thanks

Ok thanks. I’ve torqued it with the weight off. Wheel jacked off the ground. It went much tighter than with the wheel on the ground. It still flops side to side ok so will leave it like that
