Synthetic oil vs regular oil

After the break-in of the engine, is synthetic oil worth the extra money or does regular oil do the same thing? I also heard synthetic oil dissapates heat better. Is this true?

98 fatboy had oil pressure issues i wondered about, idle slow where for a hd sounded good sometimes pressure on the gauge would go to zero pressure, harley oil. switched to hd synthetic, never gets below 15 psi no matter if i used a low idle speed. now with a hoss the HD is parked. hoss recommends synthetic, mobil one, so i use it, now on next change will probably try the royal purple.
