Need advice on Handlebar Controls

HELP...has anyone converted the older style handlebar controls to the late model Harley ones. I changed out a set on a '97 Boss Hoss to the newer Harley-Davidson ones and having a hard time figuring out how to make the turn signals and brake light operate correctly. The older style has 7 wires and the new ones have 6 coming out of each control. Not sure if I've found the right wire combination yet or if I have to change out the electronic lighting module. The horn, hi/lo headlight, start, and the run/off switches work okay.
