OLD CARS
OLD CARS
I am wondering if I'm the only one who also likes and or owns any old cars. Our bikes are mechanical marvels in their own way and many owners are probably drawn to other mechanical things such as old cars or mechanical watches. I like both and recently LaFong who is my friend and a great woodworker amonst other things made me a wooden watch mounted on a wood base that stands up on a curved wood strap. I don't have a picture of it but I will if someone is interested. I'm adding a picture of an old car I own that I was driving today, its a 1938 BUICK SPECIAL and is a ball to drive.

Squirm,
Don't know if it counts, but since giving up bikes and
trikes. I have a 2000 Plymouth Prowler with 14K miles.
All I need in my old age is good music and wind. You
would not believe the looks this car gets. It is fun.
Geez

Re: OLD CARS
I made a few of them for myself, my daughter and grand daughter. I thought I'd make one for my sponsor. Can't hurt to suck up a bit.

Re: OLD CARS
56 Olds 88 for me.
The 56 Olds was my first car. I grew up as a poor kid in NE Oklahoma. At 16, I took a job on a wheat farm in North Central Kansas. Saved up enough money to buy the car for $50. Called my dad and told him I was buying a car, he told me I would buy the insurance as well. That was a $160. In another few weeks of working for the sum of $1/hour, I was able to add an 8 track tape deck for another $75.
Things have changed over the years, bottom line is I still have not grown up and still love all of my toys!
